The 3rd Annual Edmonton International Cat Festival will run at NAIT (11762 106 Street) on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

How to get to the Edmonton International Cat Festival:

Cat Fest Parking Map

  • By car: there will be free but limited parking in Lot E. Paid parking in lots F, SLC, HP and surrounding areas on campus.
  • By bus/LRT: The LRT stops right at NAIT (Metro Line/NAIT Station).
  • By bike: There are bike racks at most entrances at NAIT – including the Main Entrance outside the gym!

Main Edmonton International Cat Festival activities take place in the GYM + NAITRIUM.

Cat yoga will take place in Room E225 (remember you need to RSVP your spot first).

There will be signage and information booths to direct you between the Gym, NAITrium, and Cat Yoga.

Adoptable Cats
Location: Gym
Times: All day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Thinking of giving a cat in need their furr-ever home? Do it at the Cat Festival! Meet adoptable cats from the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost, and Zoe’s Animal Rescue and apply to adopt these special cats!

There will also be other cats and cat rescues at the event – find them in the Gym!

Show Cats
Location: Gym
Times: All day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

The exotic/breed show cats community in Edmonton is bigger than you think. Learn more about exotic cats and the world of show cats with the Edmonton Cat Fancier’s Club.

Mock cat show ring
Location: Gym
Times: 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. | 2:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. | 4:30 to 5 p.m.

The Edmonton Cat Fanciers Club presents mock cat show judging demonstrations. Ever wonder what it’s like to bring your cats to a cat show? How do they win ribbons? What do judges look for? Stop by and check out the mock cat show demonstrations.

Meet + Greet with Celebrity Cat Nala
Location: Gym
Times: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Celebrity cat Nala, the most popular cat on Instagram with nearly 3 million followers, has flown to Edmonton from California to meet YOU! Come meet and take a photo with Nala and visit the Cats of Instagram booth. Line-ups are anticipated.

Kitten TV
Location: Gym
Times: All day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Open Sky Pictures, the team behind TELUS Optik’s Kitten TV channel, presents Kitten Town: live! No actors – no dialogue – JUST KITTENS. ENDLESS KITTENS!

Drop by throughout the day as the production crew film kittens from Little Cats Lost playing on Kitten TV’s impressive set.

Kitten Box
Location: Gym
Times: All day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Come cuddle with kittens from SAFE Team Rescue! Sit inside the “Kitten Box” (like a kitten play pen) and get some one-on-one kitty cuddles and playtime with these adorable, adoptable kittens.

CATivities Centre presented by the Edmonton Public Library
Location: NAITrium
Times: CATivities are all day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Cat-themed Storytime by the EPL (10:30 a.m. | 11:30 a.m. | 12:30 p.m. | 2:30 p.m. | 3:30 p.m. | 4:30 p.m. – 30 minutes each). 

The CATivities Centre includes family-friendly activities including cat-themed, kids crafts, face-painting, colouring, and cat storytime led by the Edmonton Public Library! You can also get a free library card and learn more about the EPL’s collections! Sit and enjoy CATivities with the EPL!

Cat LEGO from A.I.M.B.O.T.
Location: NAITrium
Times: All day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

In the CATivities Centre, create your own cat-themed LEGO pieces and participate in LEGO workshops from the Alberta Institute of Mentors and Builders of Tomorrow (A.I.M.B.O.T).

Lego workshops run: 11 a.m. | 12 p.m. | 2 p.m. | 4 p.m.

Cat Cafe by Nomad Espresso and Sweet Treats from Molly’s Eats
Location: NAITrium
Times: All day (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Sit and sip on coffee from Nomad Espresso and grab a sweet cat-themed treat from Molly’s Eats in the Cat Fest ‘Cat Cafe.’ Stuffed cat plushies will keep you company in the cafe.

Food trucks with Attila the HUNgry and The Wafflery
Location: E Parking Lot (outside Gym)
Times: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fill up with delicious food from food trucks Attila the HUNgry (returning for the 3rd year) and new to the Edmonton International Cat Festival: The Wafflery!

Cats On Your Mat Cat Yoga
Location: E225 (2nd floor classroom)
Times: 11 a.m. | 1:30 p.m. | 4 p.m.

Yoga instructor Charlene Bergenstrom and the Edmonton Humane Society present Cats On Your Mat pop-up cat yoga at the Edmonton International Cat Festival.
