City of Edmonton Proclaims May 30, 2015: CAT DAY!

May 30, 2015 was officially proclaimed Cat Day in Edmonton by the City of Edmonton and Mayor Don Iveson!

Cat Day Proclamation

WHEREAS, 37 purr-cent of Canadian households have cats, making them the most popular pets in the country;

AND WHEREAS, Edmonton is proud to host the Edmonton International Cat Festival, a mew-nique event that celebrates cats and cat culture;

AND WHEREAS, with cativities, presentations, vendors, videos, adoptable cats, and a meet-and-greet with a celebrity cat, this festival includes everything but the kitten sink;

AND WHEREAS, all proceeds from this pawsome event will support the Edmonton Humane Society, Little Cats Lost, and SAFE Team Rescue;

THEREFORE I, MAYOR DON IVESON, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM CATURDAY, MAY 30, 2015 “CAT DAY” IN EDMONTON, ALBERTA’S CAPITAL CITY.
