What cat lover could turn down the opportunity to meet and photograph 100+ Edmonton cats?
But seriously, photographer Nanc Price and Cat Festival founder Linda Hoang wanted to put together a special keepsake for cat lovers and cat owners, all for a good cause.
Since 2014, the Edmonton International Cat Festival has raised $39,000 for local cat rescues that help cats in need.
The goal is to have proceeds from the Cats of Edmonton book help bring in even more money in 2016 to support the impurr-tant work these organizations do.
Cats of Edmonton is a 112-page, hard cover, full-colour, coffee table photo book that takes you into the homes of our city’s a-meowzing felines!
In March 2016, we ran a three-week Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise money to help pay for printing costs to bring the book to life.
In three weeks, $8,600 was contributed from 123 people!
500 copies of the books will be printed, and if you missed out on the campaign, and the 2016 festival, you can still buy the book – just contact firstname.lastname@example.org and watch for the book at certain bookstores and pet stores in the city!
Remember, 100% of proceeds from book sales go to support the festival – which donates money back to local Edmonton cat rescues.
